10 years of EBC Basketball!

I know, hard to believe.... Not that I've been around EBC that long, but that I am crazy enough to be talked into playing once more. I guess I have some sort of strange addiction. Now for my Mom and the other two people that care about my health :) - yes, my hip is killing me everyday... Yes, my knee throbs in bed at night... but it's basketball.

enough said. Nope.

I'm not sure why I want to play. Maybe I find satisfaction in beating a rookie that is 12 years younger than me. Maybe I find some sense of belonging. Maybe I really, really, really, like basketball and hate to thing that I might have to stop.

So for all to see. I will not play if the Doctor tells me I can't.
That will happen next week after the X-rays come back

by the way I'm not going to ASK if I shouldn't play

HEY!! Wow I was super surprised to see your comment on my post! My friend was over visiting and I said: HEY- THAT'S THE GUY WHO BOUGHT ME BASKETBAll SHOES WHEN I WAS AT EBC!!! It was so good to hear from you. How in the world did you find me?
So, I've been exploring your blog and trying to figure out what's up in your life right now... it's not really that clear but still, it was fun to read through your posts and check out some of your links... I was out for lunch after church Sunday with Baskerville and he told me you were playing for the EBC team this year... that's so cool about how alumni can play!! I wouldn't even attempt it but then I probably shouldn't have attempted it when I did I was so out of shape!

I was browsing the sites searching for some new people to chat with when I came across your profile and subsequently your web site. I clicked on your profile as I saw that you had the Christian interest checked. I was browsing for some reason I felt compelled to read on...it must be your creative way of writing, and I noticed you mentioned EBC. This also interested me as I don't often meet up with people who attended EBC. I personally have not attended EBC but do know many people who have and my middle son wishes to go there someday.
I just wanted to say hello and to tell you that I will pray for your health and healing as well as your continued ablilty to play basketball. This too is one of my son's favourite games to play.
What church do you attend? We are pretty new to the area and we have been trying Community Fellowship out in Erbsville. We have really enjoyed the messages there and the fellowship as well as the worship.
I have a son who is 15 and not really getting into Waterloo as much as I had hoped.
Well, I will go and I will pray for you. You sound like a real servant for God.
God Bless
